Reptiles and Amphibians of Southern Maryland: $5

Join naturalist Andy Brown and some of his animal friends for an informative talk to learn how to identify various reptiles and amphibians that live locally and see how you can be a part of the state’s five-year study tracking these important creatures.

This is a class for those who have always wanted to try, but don’t know the first thing about the ancient Japanese art of Bonsai. Participants will work on their own bonsai, which they will take home. Bring your own pair of sharp, clean pruners.

We’ll show you how to plant and cultivate a cutting garden that will keep your home filled with stunning, fragrant flowers throughout the season.

Cool Weather Vegetable Gardening: $5

Tomatoes and peppers are great, but they are pretty finicky about the weather. How about some tougher crops that thrive in the cold temps of early spring and late fall? Lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, and others are the topic of this delicious and fascinating workshop.

Building a Hypertufa Planter: $50

Our most popular workshop, year after year, and it fills up quickly! Create a planter that looks like it would be at home nestled in the gardens of an old English estate. Dress in clothes you don’t particularly care about, because this is dirty work. Planting workshop follows in April, when your planter has cured.
