Golden Spades

The Golden Spades is a gardening group that meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am, at Homestead Gardens Davidsonville location. Our purpose for meeting is nothing more than a regular time for our senior gardeners, age 50 and older, to come to Homestead Gardens for an hour for a gardening seminar or workshop on a variety of gardening topics, sometimes a field trip.

This is not a garden club. We do not charge any dues, require any community service of our members and take no roll. We send out a postcard or email to each member, telling them of the coming month’s program. We want you to come as you like, and not to feel obligated to attend every meeting. We also provide each attendee with a discount coupon for a purchase at Homestead Gardens at every meeting.

Now at Severna Park, too!

We now have additional regular monthly Golden Spades meetings at the Homestead Gardens Severna Park store on the first Thursday of each month. The programs given each month will be the same; first presented at the Davidsonville store on Tuesday and then presented again at the Severna Park store the following Thursday.

The decision to expand this program to the Severna Park location has been in response to a growing demand for Golden Spades presentations there. We are hoping the expansion of the program will attract new members and provide existing members more flexibility to fit the meeting into their busy schedules.
