Experts from around the country will be joining us to help spread the word of the benefits of using these powerful plants as part of your landscape. The weekend will feature hands-on workshops, informative seminars, unique displays, special offers, a water-gardening breakfast, and more!


Saturday June 28

12-2pm: Live Reggae Music with Orlando Phillips

10am: “Wake up with Water Gardening”...$5 Registration is required
Enjoy some coffee and snacks while learning about the In’s and Out’s of water gardening with Homestead Gardens’ Water Gardening Specialist, Dave Kemon. All participants receive one free fish.

11am: “Kids Club: Drought-Tolerant Plants”...$5 Registration is required, space is limited.

12pm: “Planting for Shoreline Restoration” Jerry Crawford, Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Do your part to save the Bay by planting to reduce pollution into our Bay.

2pm: Workshop: “Succulent Dish Garden”...$15 ($12 Garden Club Members) Registration is required

Sunday June 29

12-2pm: Steel drum performance by Wentworth Richardson

12pm: “New Specialty Perennials for 2008” Mandy Bass, Carolina Nurseries. Explore new varieties of perennials to inspire your green thumb.

1:30pm: “Using Natives in your Garden Landscape” Steve Castorani, Founder of North Creek Nurseries. Planting natives is easier than you think. Learn how to use the American Beauties line to give back to the environment.

3pm: “Perennial Favorites”  See what the Homestead Gardens staff plants in their own garden and what makes these plants so popular.
