Homestead for the Holidays The Christmas Shop at Homestead Gardens was born 20 years ago, with our buyers looking everywhere from Atlanta to Zurich to discover hard-to-find Christmas items. Since then, our Christmas Shop has flourished into the must-visit destination of the season for discriminating collectors. No matter what you are looking for, we carry it.
In the tradition of New York department stores, our displays are works of art unto themselves, providing eye-candy for visitors of all ages. Our impressive displays this year include more than 50 themed trees and, of course, our spectacular and famous train display! Finally, our wreath-making area is currently in full production, designing and creating hundreds of theme-based wreaths that are exclusive to Homestead Gardens. And don't miss our extensive selection of prelit trees, as well as Homestead Garden's unrivaled selection of Christmas lights. New this year is our terrific selection of cool-to-the-touch LED lights, which use 10% of the electricity of regular incandescent Christmas lights, but are much brighter and last years longer. The celebration of Christmas today and Christmases past are worlds apart. It seems that many traditions have faded, giving way to convenience. With the crunch of events coupled with the pressure of gift shopping, is it any wonder that people are stressed at this time of year? We understand. And we know that it doesn't have to be that way. 
The items in our Christmas Shop are almost impossible to find anywhere else. In fact, nearly half the ornaments we carry are made exclusively for Homestead Gardens and cannot be found anywhere else. In the 1940s and 50s, Woolworth's Department store created a huge market for old world glass ornaments imported from Germany. Eventually, the trend fizzled in favor of modern design and materials. However, there has been a resurgence of interest in this style of European elegance, and Homestead Gardens is proud to offer a wonderful selection of them. Along with ornaments, a Homestead Gardens has an unparalleled collection of nutcrackers and smokers imported from the Black Forest region of Germany, which are particularly valued by collectors.
